Every child communicates differently.
Whether your child is saying their first words, using AAC, repeating scripts, struggling to be understood, experiencing feeding challenges, or finding everyday situations overwhelming, understanding why is the first step toward meaningful progress.
An assessment is much more than a checklist or test.
It is an opportunity to understand your child's strengths, challenges, interests, and the supports that will help them communicate with confidence.

My approach
Every child deserves to feel understood.
I believe communication develops best when children feel safe, connected, and engaged.
Rather than focusing only on what a child cannot do, I look at the whole child—their communication, sensory preferences, regulation, strengths, interests, and relationships—to develop practical recommendations that fit naturally into everyday life.
Families are the experts on their children, and I believe the best outcomes happen when we work together.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Do I need a referral?
No. A physician referral is not required, Parents or caregivers can refer their child below.
Can I stay with my child?
Absolutely. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to participate throughout the assessment, to provide additional insights and receive education pieces.
Will my child have to sit at a table?
No. Assessments are individualized and may include floor play, movement, games, conversation, or structured activities depending on your child's age, interests, and needs.
What if my child doesn't talk?
That's okay. Communication includes gestures, facial expressions, AAC, play, body language, and many other forms of interaction. The assessment is adapted to meet your child where they are.

What if my child has tantrums and behaviours including aggression toward others?
No problem. We're trained in behaviour management and can set up the room accordingly - just let us know ahead of time so we can prepare. We can help you get to the root of why the behaviours are happening - it's a faster and more efficient way to communicate than words sometimes.
Will you communicate with my child's school or daycare?
Yes—with your written consent, I'm happy to collaborate with teachers, daycare staff, and other professionals involved in your child's care.
What happens after the assessment?
We'll discuss the findings together and develop a plan that may include home strategies, therapy, groups, parent coaching, or referrals to other professionals if appropriate.

What if I have insurance coverage for speech-language pathology services?
